the disagreements in question as I recall it were: Not wanting Wednesday to fawn over the boys and amp up the love triangle narrative, not wanting her to start a flash mob during a dance, and be more into dresses and the like. This just backs up the fan's belief that Jenna Ortega understood her assignment better than the writers, and she essentially saved this show from being a complete rewrite of what the Addams family members were/are suppose to be, that being the reverse of typical while not playing into stereotypes based off looks alone.
#Thank you Jenna Ortega#queen shit#icon#fuck that hit piece by the NY Times#jenna ortega#wednesday netflix#wednesday addams#the addams family#yes I am livid at this but it doesn't make Jenna wrong for calling the shit writing out#Nor does it make the tweets in this incorrect#internalized misogyny#misogyny

Feel free to ignore but what about sending Simon a spicy pic while he's at work, he's h*r ny all day then goes ham when he gets home to you 🫣
A/N: Ahhh, I love this!! Hope this does what you were looking for justice, still tryna get a feel for writing smut😭😅
Warnings: smut, p in v sex, oral (f receiving), swearing, cream pie, spanking
You're a Minx, You Know That?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You found yourself pacing Simon's home office, phone in hand, finger hovering over the ‘send’ button. You’d just taken a rather sultry picture a few moments ago and were debating on sending it to Simon.
You had lingerie that you had just bought from the store, and were too impatient to show him.
He was currently wrapping up on base and would be returning home to you in a few days, but you just couldn’t wait that long.You’d taken the picture, sitting on his home office chair. Your legs were spread apart, and one hand was set across your lower abdomen.
Deciding to just go for it, you hit the send button, and waited anxiously for Simon’s reply.
Simon’s phone pinged shortly after you sent it, and he looked down to see a photo message from you. He looked at Johnny and Gaz who were sitting next to him and made sure they weren’t looking, and opened your message.
His eyes widened at the picture, his breath hitching in his throat as he immediately went to hide his phone in his pocket. He didn’t know what to expect from your message, but it certainly wasn’t that.
“I’ll uh, I’ll be back.” Simon cleared his throat, and made his way to his quarters, ignoring the confused looks from his teammates.
He hurried to his room, and locked the door. Pulling his phone back out, he stared at your picture and felt himself growing hard.
From: Simon
Naughty girl, you are, what’s with the picture?
From Y/N
What, didn’t you like it? Got a new set, couldn’t wait to show it to you.
From: Simon
Oh, I liked it. Why don’t you send me another, yeah?
You bit your lip as you read Simon’s reply, and settled yourself in a more comfortable position in his chair. You moved your hand down into your panties, sliding your fingers across your folds.
Lifting the phone to get the perfect angle, you took another picture for Simon in this position, and sent it to him.
Simon groaned as the new picture popped up on his screen, and he palmed himself lightly.
From: Y/N
You like, baby?
From: Simon
I fucking love it, just wait until I get home. Can't wait to see that in person.
Simon was about to send a picture of his own, when a knock came at his door.
“L.T. Price needs us for a few.” Johnny’s voice came from the other side of the door.
Simon bit back a groan. This couldn’t have come at a worse time. “Be right there, Soap.”
From: Simon
Got to go love, I’ll see you in a few days. Better have that little outfit on for me when I get back ;)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A few days passed, and it was finally time for Simon to come home. You couldn't have been more excited. The anticipation of what could ensue tonight had you feeling even livelier than usual. Simon had texted you not long ago that he would be home soon, so you'd put on the lingerie piece and waited patiently for him.
Simon was so glad to finally be home, the mission was long and tiring, and he just wanted to come home to you. He'd been horny as hell since seeing those photos of you, his hand just not doing enough to satiate his needs. As he walked in the door, he looked around to see you. Assuming you were just as horny as he was, he made his way to the bedroom.
He made his way into your shared room and found you lying on the bed, in the same lingerie from the photo.
You smiled at him and moved your hand that was resting on your side, down your body slowly.
“Fucking minx you are, you know that?” He asked, as he approached your side of the bed.
“Don’t know what you’re talking about, I just wanted to show you some new lingerie I got.” You played innocent, moving your hand up and down your abdomen. “Hi baby. I missed you.”
Simon chuckled as his eyes raked up and down your figure. You looked absolutely divine. The lingerie had hugged you in all the right places, showing off your curves beautifully. “God you have no idea how much I have fucking missed you, sweetheart. I've been struggling for days because of those little photos you sent me.”
He leaned forward to kiss you, and you immediately pulled him closer by wrapping your arms around his neck. He ran his tongue along your lip before moving to your neck, sucking a small mark into your soft flesh.
"Wanted to surprise you. Know you've been working hard." You moaned, pushing your head back to give Simon better access to your neck. He nipped at the flesh again, using his tongue to caress the spot after.
"Nice surprise it was. Looks fucking divine on you." He mumbled as he kissed your shoulder blade. "'M gonna leave it on you while I fuck you senseless."
Simon flipped you over so you were on your stomach and pulled you up so your butt was in the air. He gave it a harsh smack, smoothing his hand over the forming red mark. He pulled back only to take his shirt off before returning his hands back to your backside, massaging gently.
Bending down slightly, he leaned in to give each cheek of your ass a kiss, before getting to his knees. “Fuck, I’ve missed this pussy.”
He pulled aside your panties and drove his tongue into your wet heat, flicking at your sensitive bud. You cried out into the pillow, your eyes rolling into the back of your head. Simon’s hands gripped tightly on your ass cheeks, as he pulled them apart to get better access to your cunt. He ran his tongue along your folds at an antagonizingly slow pace while simultaneously palming at your ass cheeks.
You couldn’t help the soft moans that escaped your lips, as you continued to bury your head in your pillow. He slipped his tongue inside your entrance and began to circle it in a slow motion.
“Taste like fucking heaven, love.” He cooed into your pussy, moving to suck on your clit.
You felt yourself growing closer to your orgasm, the coil in your belly tightening and threatening to snap at any moment. “Gonna cum, Si” You wailed in the pillow. He gave another long lick at your slit before returning to suck at your bud.
“Not yet, want you to cum on my cock, baby.” He pulled his mouth away from your clit, slowly, wiping the remaining juices off of his face with the back of his hand. You whined at the loss of contact.
He leaned forward to place a kiss on the small of your back before pulling you toward the edge of the bed.
You heard the sound of his belt buckle hitting the floor, then felt the tip of his cock rubbing at your folds. “God Si, fuck me already.”
“Planning to love.” He said as he pushed himself inside you. The two of you moaned in unison at the feeling.”This pussy is always so tight.”
He pulled himself all the way out before ramming back into you. You squealed at the sensation, causing a wicked grin to form on Simon’s face. “Gonna fuck you good. Should be punishing you for sending pics like that."
Gripping your waist with a tightness that was sure to leave marks, Simon began pounding into you. You could only moan, as you desperately were gasping for air at his brutal pace.
“Dirty little girl aren’t you? What if the boys had seen that picture?” Simon’s hand came down to slap your ass hard. “Would you have liked that? My mates seeing you all dolled up in this lingerie?”
“N-No Simon, for y-your eyes only.” You struggled to get your words out, with Simon fucking you so hard you could barely think straight. “Only you.”
“Damn right my eyes only. You’re mine.” Another slap came down on your ass. “This pussy, this ass, everything. Mine.”
“All yours.” You chanted, turning your head to look at him.
He looked ethereal, covered in sweat, eyes concentrating on the sight of your pussy swallowing him whole which each thrust. He noticed your gaze, smirked, then picked up the speed of his thrusts.
You couldn’t comprehend how someone could move as fast as he was, but you were hardly complaining. The noises that filled the room were obscene. The grunts from Simon, moans from you that were muffled from your pillow, and the sound of skin slapping against skin was all that could be heard.
“Look so good in this set, baby. Been wanting to fuck you in this since I saw it..” Simon breathed out, moving his eyes to rake along the backside of your body. “So fucking beautiful you are.”
He started to pick up the pace even more, as his grunts started to get louder. His grip on your hips loosened as you felt yourself being pulled up against Simon's body.
He continued to jut himself into you as he moved his hand down your stomach, his fingers making their way to your clit, rubbing harshly.
"Simon!" You cried out, throwing your head back to land on his shoulder. "So good. Gonna cum."
"Cum with me yeah? Gonna cum in this pretty pussy."
Simon could feel you clench tightly around his cock, as you cried his name loudly, your orgasm tearing through you. He moaned at the feeling and felt himself nearing his own release.
His thrusts grew sloppy as he chased his high, and a tiny squeak from you set him over the edge. His cock pulsed inside you, painting your walls white with his cum.
He moaned loudly as his orgasm died down. "Fucking hell, never gets old."
You could only nod in response, still trying to catch your breath. He pulled out of you, laying you softly on the bed. He smiled to himself at the marks left on your body by him. Maybe he'd take a few more photos for himself next time he was on deployment.
"What do you say we take a shower, yeah?." He asked as he moved to scoop you back in his arms. "Gotta figure out how to get this bloody thing off you first, then it's round two."

Hello! Okay so this is my first ask!
Could you please do number 30 "If I told you that I didn't need you, well that would be a lie" from the pocket full of hope prompt list you recently posted for Stuart Scola and Sasha please?
Tagging: @kmc1989 @trublu2u @noxytopy @district447 @stelacole @abby-splace
Companion piece to:
Every Inch Of You (NSFW) - You and Stuart spend the night together after two years apart.
Escapee - You and Stuart are reunited when a face from your past escapes from prison.
Safehouse - You and Stuart discuss moving forward now you're back in NY.
The Life You Could Have - You get a glimpse into the life you could have with Stuart.
You’ve been in the safe house for three days before you start to get restless. Stuart can see it in the way you pace the living room, tidying Jack’s toys, stacking the books in a neat alphabetised order.
This happens sometimes when you can’t go for a run or hit the boxing gym, that relentless energy you have, it starts to build and build inside you. It makes you impulsive, reckless.
“You’re going to leave aren’t you?” He asks you that night after he’s tucked Jack into bed. You’re drying the dishes on the draining board, putting each one back in its rightful place. Outwardly you’re the epitome of calm, but he knows you, knows your brain is going a mile a minute.
“It’s the only way to end it.” You tell him, folding the towel before you sigh placing your hands upon the surface of the counter. “I’m not sure how much longer I can stand being cooped up like this, it feels like I’m trapped in my own skin.”
It’s the ADHD, you’ve never received an official diagnosis but Stuart sees it in you, he always has. He mentioned it a couple of years ago back before you got married and you conceded he was probably right. You hate the idea of being shoved into a neat little box so you handle it on your own and it works mostly…
Until you end up a position like this, trapped in a house without the usual mechanisms you use to cope.
“Sasha.” He says softly, his hands coming to rest on your shoulders, trying to sooth you. “You just gotta hold out a little longer-”
“That’s not really how it works with me.” You remind him.
You may have been apart for a few years but he hasn’t forgotten the other way you deal with his feelings. His fingers thread in yours and he guides you to his bedroom, closing the door behind him so Jack doesn’t hear the noise. The way you fuck him that night, it’s wild, untamed. He’s forgotten that it can be like this with you, he’s forgotten how he can be when he’s with you. It’s bite marks and scratches, bruises that’ll last for days and finally it’s ecstasy, the most intense euphoria he’s had in a very long time.
When he wakes up the next morning it’s to an odd sense of unease. He runs his hand over the sheets to find your side of the bed empty and a cloying, ominous silence seeping through the house.
It’s then he sees the note propped up on the nightstand and his heart sinks because he realises the truth now, that last night wasn’t really about burning off that excess energy, it was really about saying goodbye.
Stuart? Don’t miss any of his stories by joining the taglist here.

Over the last 48 hours, Tucker Carlson, the Daily Wire's Ben Shapiro, ZeroHedge, and others have received text messages from a NY Times reporter who's about to drop a pre-election screed on 'misinformation' in conjunction with radical left-wing group Media Matters - which exists to deplatform conservative voices.
Tucker Carlson simply told them to fuck off, as one does.
Ben Shapiro, meanwhile, wrote in a Monday post to X, "If you were wondering what the legacy media would plan for its October surprise, wonder no longer: it's here. Today, I received the following text from a reporter at @NYTimes."
"What, precisely, is NYT doing? It's perfectly obvious: using research from Media Matters, a radical Left-wing organization whose sole purpose is destroying conservative media (see below), in order to pressure YouTube to demonetize and penalize any and all conservatives ONE WEEK FROM THE ELECTION," Shapiro continues.

so, I feel bad this will be long (mod you can put it under a cut if needed?), but I'm also neurotic as fuck so whatever. But on the topic of l1l d3v1l, some of their work came across my feed and, for lack of a better term, triggered me hard. Not because of their content/style/whatever at all! But because my god please please please everyone doing 3D printing, cure and wash your prints properly!!!!!!!!! Another Anon recently made a very very good list of recommendations for them for posting. I am going to toss in my hat for some of the finishing processes. They have a very good base for sculpting, they know how to use their program and their style will evolve naturally over time. They're even using references. They're figuring out joints. Faceups also evolve with practice. Everyone starts somewhere, it's all learning, etc, and no I cannot explain why dust and hair on sticky prints made me react this way. Psychoanalyze me in the comments while I offer some tips on curing/finishing.
Put your UV hood on while it's printing, yes even when you're getting in progress pics unless it's like night or whatever. room temp and humidity while I've left the hood off has absolutely messed with my prints, I used to live in Albany in NYS and I think they're in the same state.
Wash your print properly. Take it off the base, rinse it in whatever the fuck it needs to be washed in (alcohol, water, etc), cut the supports (I do sometimes leave some supports in until after curing. YMMV moment), and then wash it again. Get a soft toothbrush. Scrub. SCRUB. Dry it properly with a paper towel, not air dry. If water washed resin still feels a little tacky, you can give it a wipe with some rubbing alcohol too. Try to only mix water washable with water washable and the same for alcohol. Same with brands, but YMMV with that - washing is really important. If you're unsure because it's a thicker piece let it cure for a bit and then check, wipe with a lower alcohol, dry it, cure again.
AND AGAIN. I cannot stress enough how important that after washing, you cure it properly. You don't need the fancy washing/curing stations and what not if you don't have them. Get a $20 amazon nail UV lamp and set it over your prints. Prop it up a little higher if your print is a bit big. Move it around the print or rotate the print every 60s (or however long your longest setting is on it). Sun curing is fine but sometimes it's not strong enough and you'll need to leave prints in the sun for days before they're cured properly. (same with resin eyes, I see the eyes they made are also sticky/cloudy. That's a not curing long enough issue. Cure it. Cure it again longer. let rest. Poke. Sticky? Cure again. sand if needed, gloss with a thin layer of more resin with a flat brush, cure.) After hitting it with a lamp for a while then leave it in the sun if you want for a day or so.
After all that, aside from print mistakes or support bumps, it should be smooth, maybe a bit soft feeling (not when you press on it though, bad cure), sometimes my partner even says "chalky" texture. Stuff shouldn't stick to it so easily!!! If it still is, revisit 1-3!!!!!
You're offering garage kits, but no one wants a half cured sticky mess they'll have to deal with re-curing and washing before they even get to sand. We can SEE the dust and hair and fiber and fingerprints on the prints in your photos. Even if they're clean seeming in person, the photos don't instill confidence at all in the (semi) finished product of your kits or in the ability to get it casted (casters will reject things if they aren't finished properly to a certain point). Faceups will be infinitely easier to do on a smooth non tacky surface (it seems they're mainly using watercolor pencils to do the eyes from the texture, drag and fall off. Sharpen them, don't soak them in water first unless you know how to control the mush and thick layer that will follow. Doing a dry draft helps a lot), the sealer will stick better if you're sealing before hand. Some people don't seal their 3D prints before painting and that's between them and the 3D printing gods. Or if all of this irrelevant and your stuff is actually cured, dried, and not tacky, dust your workspace, put away any wigs and whatnot, and get rubber gloves.

This last episode of The Gilded Age made me cry AGAIN. this show is perfection and I am so here for what's coming next. Spoilers under cut cuz I have mutuals who arent caught up to the most recent episode. I'm not talking about EVERYTHING tho cuz I only remember the big parts tbh.
HOLY SHIT okay so first off, Peggy and the reporter guy whose name I always forget KISSED last episode!!!!
So glad Marian was like GIRL HE'S MARRIED TF?!
Also the whole thing with the school closing, like I cannot believe they would just close it because it's a school for black kids wtf 1880's New York!! You're supposed to be more progressive, but yeah stark reminder of the times we're in during the show.
The whole thing with Mrs. Russell and Mrs. Winterton being all petty with each other now that Winterton has some pull with the old guard who are leaving the Academy for the Met??? 🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌. HERE. FOR. IT. love the bargaining to get the center box. Like Winterton, girl, this is BERTHA RUSSELL.
oh and speaking of hbic Mrs. Russell, the Duke is coming to the Met omfg her whole world just ended right there!! The look on her face when Larry and Gladys were like " Hey, were off to the party, see ya!"
That fucking party too!!!! Omfg Dash, I cannot with you!!!!! To like invite everyone that you know to this solarium thing which, baller move btw I would love to have my own solarium in a garden like living the dream
Okay, so this party is popping off too like all the DRAMA
Gladys is getting hit on by ANOTHER bachelor, and Larry comes to the rescue like a protective older brother, we stan.
Oscar and Maud are hella cute together, like I know he's gay and kind of a fortune chaser, and I have a feeling she's got something going on with her...like idk there's just some slightly red tinged flags with her background...I guess we'll see...BUT they kissed too!!!!!! And it was so hot!!!! Like daaamn Oscar!!! I didn't know you could kiss a lady like that!!
So Dashiel puts the party together for the dedication of the solarium, but then as he's making a speech about it, he brings up Marian!!!
And then he starts going on this rant about moving back to NY to have his daughter grow up where he did and he didn't expect to fall in love
Y'all the look on Marian's FACE!!??? it was the same look I had too tbh
HE PROPOSED TO HER!!!!! AND AUNT AGNES WAS ALL ABOUT IT CUZ DUH
Omg and Aunt Ada and Forte were both like UH UH YOU DO NOT WANNA SAY YES WE CAN TELL!!!!
Like everyone was hella shocked and YALL THE SCREAM I SCREAMED WHEN THEY SHOWED LARRY'S FACE!!!! this poor man just got dumped by his boss/milfy widow just to come back to NY and see the other girl he liked get engaged. Big fat L for Larry.
Cut to Jack, he sent in for a patent for that clock piece he invented, and he gets denied because he's not part of a clockmakers guild or whatever.
Fucking Armstrong over here has to shit in his Cheerios and just talk mad shit like I cannot wait for her to say the wrong thing in front of Agnes. like you're on thin ice already because of all the racist shit you did and said to Peggy, Armstrong like what is your game plan???
So Mr. Russell goes to one of the union dudes houses. Like it's the same guy who came to his house but again, I forget their names
They talk for a min and it looks like Russell is having a small change of heart when he sees the man's family. The oldest son who doesn't look more than like 17 tells Russell that he's working in the mill too, to support his family.
Russell leaves and is greeted by a mob of people who work in the mills. Like they brought their families too so you see women with babies in their arms.
Rest of the episode is going back and forth between the smaller plots. Like Bannister and one of the other servants whose name I also forget seeing Church come back to the Russell home drunk, which ended up being that it was the 30th anniversary of the death of Church's wife who died so he got drunk.
Same small plot thing, Mrs. Astor, Mrs. Van Rhijn, and Mr. McAllister all come together to plot how to save the Academy since Winterton is taking a bunch of people and taking them to the Met.
Okay, now for the worst cry I had.
Forte and Ada come to visit Agnes after their honeymoon to Niagara Falls.He had been having some back pain and he went to some doctors
At first it was just like oh here's some pain meds to take care of it, let's go do some tests though.
Well....he goes to another specialist and he tells Forte that he has something more serious.
Cut to Marian coming to visit, she's thinking it's about her engagement to Dash, so she starts to talk about it with Ada
Ada was like "I didn't call for you?"
Forte comes out and says "I did. I need to talk to the both of you." And makes Ada and Marian sit.
Scene cuts to Marian rushing into the Van Rhijn house, Agnes, Oscar, and cousin Aurora are all there.
We find out that Uncle Forte as Marian calls him, has cancer. It's the kind that starts in the back and begins to spread. So it sounds like he has some sort of bone cancer?
Agnes immediately rushed over to Ada
Scene change and we go to Ada and Forte in his bed, she's cuddling him and telling him that they'll get through it. She starts to tear up which makes him cry.
The doorbell rings, and Ada goes downstairs
She sees Agnes there and she runs into her sister's arms.
The sobbing that Cynthia Nixon did here absolutely destroyed me.
Agnes saying to Ada, "I'm here. You've not to worry." Just reminded me of my brother doing that with me when our mom died and it broke me.
Agnes tried to get Ada and Forte to come to the Van Rhijn home but they said no
Props to Ada and Forte. Death with dignity will always be my stance and I think that's what is going to be implied here.
Mad props also go to Mr. Russell for not shooting the strikers. I think he's starting to have a change of heart with the robber baron tendencies.
All in all, GOOD EPISODE. MADE ME CRY. I LOVED IT. can't wait to see how the opening night will go lololol specially cuz Winterton doesn't know about Mr. Russell basically blackmailing the dude from the Met!! Ohohohohhooooo

Artist/ Fic Writer Interview
I was tagged by the magnificent darling Chrissy @you-are-so-much-better-than-that who came up with the artist questions, the sensational sweetheart Harvey @mikhailoisbaby & honeypie Willow @ian-galagher thank youuu 🥰
1. Do you post on Ao3? If so, how many works do you have on AO3? If not, where do you post?
I don't post my art on ao3 but on tumblr 😊
2. What is your total art count?
17 🎨
3. What are your top 5 pieces by likes/kudos?
4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do respond by liking them bc most comments are in the tags & idk should i respond in the comments? lol
5. What is your current fandom, and what was the first fandom you drew for?
Current fandom: Gallavich & First fandom i drew for & shared my art is Gallavich but probably first fandom was maybe soul eater
6. Have you ever received hate on any art?
Not hate but a complaint on my gallacrafts for theme 11 I'm fucking gay. I got an anon asking why I made the lesbian flag & put the phrase I'm fucking gay & i that should have just done lesbian although I had actually made both but it was on the part 2 bc i had a limit of 10 pictures.
7. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t drawn for yet but want to?
Maybe Spirk or Soul x Maka from Soul Eater
8. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Gallavich most definitely, they hit all my likes in a ship plus they're canon & married to boot! #spoiled 😆
9. Do you draw outside of fandom?
Yeah I started getting back into drawing with makinng flowers for mutual's birthday 🥰 I've also made little mascots of baby animals for my niece's baby shower
10. What’s the an art piece you’ve drawn that came out completely differently than you expected?
Probably the GGE2022 for Macy. I had some other ideas. Also their poses were gonna be different like it was either the back of them looking at snow or tumbled into the snow on top of an ny roof top but still not the best at figure drawing so i just did the best of my abilities 😄
11. Do you draw smut?
Not yet but one day 😏
12. Have you ever had any of your art stolen or copied?
Not that I know of
13. Have you ever collaborated on a piece?
No but I think it could be fun to do 🖼
14. What’s an idea you have that you have yet to draw?
Snow king Mickey & Snowflake fae Ian that was gonna be my 2nd choice for the GGE2022 but i loved making fanart for Macy 🥰
Crop top Ian & Mickey in Ian's ROTC hat
Smoo fae Mickey in Ian's arms from a reference pic i saw here
15. What are your drawing strengths?
Faces, hair, blushing & colouring maybe?
16. What are your drawing weaknesses?
Poses, hands & backgrounds
17. What’s your favourite art piece you’ve drawn?
I would say my good omens au I simply adorethe little details I put into the drawing. I referenced Mickey's outfit in Ian's delete scene dream. Ian's outfit is 7x10 just in darker colours. I loved being able to create Ian's ombre eyes by colour picking Cameron's hazel ones. Ian's hair shading. The heart wings & being able to creat the wing texture on the angel wing. AND their signature shows with the timberland & bright read air forces!!! I had such a fun time drawing this 🥰 Also it was my 100,000 post lol
18. What is one thing you’d like to tell people about your art that they might not know?
My gallavich art is the first time I've been colouring my drawings. When I drew a lot in high school I would just do the line art & was too hesitant to colour them.
19. What inspires or motivates you to create for fandom?
Definitely you guys! Being able to make you guys smile. As well as your creations & the creating events 💕🖌
20. And finally, can you describe your process a little? Do you have a favourite place to draw? Do you play something in the background? Do you do research or just go for it? Give us a little insight.
I do like to crawl up into a hunched ball on the lounge couch or my bed (which should stop bad for posture lol) Then I do enjoy playing YouTube video essays about internet history/horror games I'd never play or movie reactions.
Also, I am more of an artist who researches & and works with many references. I got a whole lotta unclosed tabs of Ian & Mickey, body poses & clothes that i forgot to close lol.
So I’m not a fic writer yet! 😉 But here are the interviews questions if you guys wanna ❤️

A lot of y'all know I been obsessed with Rammellzee for a hot second now. I don't have the crazy obsession y'all have w/ Basqiuat, or Andy Warhol. But of that downtown scene, I reaaaally loved Haring as a yute dem and I really fucked with A. Charles just off seeing their work publicly all around me.
But once I found Ramm, it was another revelation. A convergence of a lot of shit I like wrapped in one enigmatic weirdo artist's ideas to pick apart and break down. Bruh, this nigga straddles genius and mental illness in a wild way. There's a touch of Rammellzee in MF DOOM.
One of the reasons I liked the young rapper Wiki when I found him in 2012, (outside of this video) is because him/his crew "Ratking" refers to "Letter Racers". I instantly thought, "yo, this kid is tapped in!".
Also, I'm guilty for really obsessing over late 80's and 90's era NYC culture. Y'all wasn't outside, but there's just something super ill about that downtown time/space that incubated so much of our culture from my hometown. Alex Corporan (of Supreme's OG crew) summed it thusly: "The ‘90s in NYC lands as the last of the epic, raw, untouchable, unstoppable, fearless times for life. You're unable to replicate the experience of what was happening in New York during this time. Skateboarding, music, nightlife, art, fashion... you name it! 2000-2004 held onto that energy for a bit, but from 1990-1999 you grew up real fast and experienced shit in light speed."
Anyways, NY Times did a piece I wanna hit y'all with. I sprinkled in some video/links/pics for razzle-dazzle. Long live Rammellzee! In the late nineteen-seventies, the sociologist Nathan Glazer had grown weary of riding New York’s graffiti-covered subways. The names of young vandals, who identified themselves as “writers” rather than as artists, were everywhere—inside, outside, sometimes stretching across multiple train cars. Glazer didn’t know who these writers were, or whether their transgressive spirit ever manifested itself in violent crimes, but that didn’t matter. The daily confrontation with graffiti suggested a city under siege. “The signs of official failure are everywhere,” he wrote in an influential 1979 essay. Graffiti, with its casual anarchy and cryptic syntax, offered glimpses into a “world of uncontrollable predators.” In the nineties, Glazer’s essay would help inspire the concept of “broken windows” policing—a theory that preserving the appearance of calm, orderly neighborhoods can foster peace and civility.
Graffiti has always had this kind of metaphorical power. It is somehow more than art or destruction (even though it is both), and it prompts awe or dread, depending on your tolerance for disorder. For every Glazer, there were romantics like Norman Mailer, who had written the text for a book of photographs elevating graffiti to the status of “faith.” From his perspective, graffiti forced the upper crust to reckon with the names and the fugitive dreams of a forgotten underclass: “You hit your name and maybe something in the whole scheme of the system gives a death rattle.”
Few people understood and internalized this power as deeply as the artist, rapper, and theoretician Rammellzee (which he styled as The ramm:ell:zee). He believed that his time in the train yards and the tunnels of New York gave him a vision for how to destroy and rebuild our world. He was born in 1960 and grew up in Far Rockaway, Queens. His birth name is a closely guarded secret; he legally changed it to his artistic tag in 1979. (He also insisted that The ramm:ell:zee was an “equation,” not a name.) Little is known about his youth, aside from passing aspirations to study dentistry (he was good with his hands) and to be a model (in a 1980 catalogue, he is identified as Mcrammellzee).
Ramm—as he became known—believed that language enforced discipline, and that whoever controlled it could steer people’s thoughts and imaginations. His hope wasn’t to replace English; he wanted to annihilate it from the inside out. His generation grew up after urban flight had devastated New York’s finances and infrastructure. Ramm channelled the chaos into a spectacular personal mythology, drawn from philology, astrophysics, and medieval history. He was obsessed with a story of Gothic monks whose lettering grew so ornate that the bishops found it unreadable and banned the technique. The monks’ work wasn’t so different from the increasingly abstract styles of graffiti writing, which turned a name into something mysterious and unrecognizable. Ramm developed a philosophy, Gothic Futurism, and an artistic approach that he called Ikonoklast Panzerism: “Ikonoklast” because he was a “symbol destroyer,” abolishing age-old standards of language and meaning; “Panzer” because this symbolic warfare involved arming all the letters of the alphabet, so that they might liberate themselves. He lived these ideas through his art and his music, and by being part of the hip-hop scene during its infancy.
In 1983, Rammellzee and a rapper named K-Rob went to visit the painter Jean-Michel Basquiat. Though Ramm and Basquiat were friends, they were also rivals. Ramm would later say that Basquiat wasn’t a “dream artist”—he didn’t so much radiate visions outward as take things in like a “sponge,” learning about genius from books. He and Ramm once bet on who could most convincingly parody the other’s work. (Ramm claimed not only that he won but that Basquiat’s art dealer, who wasn’t in on their ruse, told Basquiat that “his” work was the best he had ever done.)
That night, Basquiat invited Ramm and K-Rob to record a song he’d written. Ramm, who had rapped in the movie “Wild Style,” was already known for his unique nasal sneer. (He called it his “gangster duck” style.) The two men looked at Basquiat’s elementary rhymes, laughed, and tossed them in the trash. Instead, they made up their own lyrics—a brilliant, surreal tale of a kid (the earnest, bemused K-Rob) who’s on his way home and a hectoring pimp (Ramm) who tries to tempt him toward the dark side. Basquiat called the song “Beat Bop,” and paid for it to be produced; he painted the vinyl single’s cover art himself. The song was murky and strange, like a spiky funk jam slowed to a sinister crawl. In the background, someone tunes a violin. There’s so much echo and reverb on the track that it sounds like an attempt at time travel.
youtube
In the eighties, graffiti gained acceptance in the art world. Despite Ramm’s charisma, the intensity of his work and his stubborn, erratic personality kept him on the movement’s fringes. Where Basquiat and Keith Haring seemed shy showmen, Ramm came across as a nutty professor. His early paintings took inspiration from the psychedelia of comic books and science fantasy, with mazy train tracks running across cosmic reliefs. His palette was attuned to the era’s anxieties about nuclear war and nuclear waste. The colors were bright and garish, suggesting a box of neon highlighters run amok.
Rammellzee created and wore full-body suits of armor that he called “Garbage Gods.”

In the mid-eighties, he began rendering these ideas in 3-D. He made sculptures that evoked the fossilized remains of twentieth-century life: newspaper clippings, key rings, chain links, and other junk, floating in an epoxy ooze. The most remarkable works were his “Garbage Gods,” full-body suits of armor, some of which weighed more than a hundred pounds. They look like junk-yard Transformers doing samurai cosplay. His most famous character, the Gasholeer, was outfitted with a small flamethrower.
Ramm’s art, thought, and music are the subject of the exhibition “ramm∑llz∑∑: Racing for Thunder,” at Red Bull Arts New York.
Befitting the popular drink’s own sense of iconoclasm, “Racing” bathes in Ramm’s frenzied, free-associative, and occasionally overwhelming energy. There are his early canvases and sculptures, along with flyers, business cards, manifestos, and patent applications. A small theatre screens previously unseen videos of Ramm rapping at nightclubs. The most impressive part of the survey is a floor devoted to his “Garbage Gods” and “Letter Racers”—skateboards representing each letter of the alphabet, armed with makeshift rockets, screwdrivers, and blades.
Throughout the exhibition, you can hear moments from Ramm’s lectures on Gothic Futurism—a thrilling jumble of street-corner hustling and technical language, all “parsecs,” “integers,” “aerodynamics.” As I was examining a collection of hand-painted watches, I kept hearing Ramm pause as he reached the end of a long disquisition on ecological catastrophe and graffiti-as-warfare, and then bark, “Next slide!”
In early May, the Red Bull Music Festival staged a Ramm-inspired concert to mark the opening of the art show. Ramm had continued to make music after “Beat Bop,” never wavering from his philosophies, just declaring them against increasingly turbulent, industrial-sounding backdrops. The eclecticism of the bill spoke to his wandering ear, and ranged from the terse hardcore of Show Me the Body to the wise-ass raps of Wiki. K-Rob, wearing a T-shirt featuring a mushroom and the words “I’m a Fun Guy,” reprised his verse from “Beat Bop,” grinning the whole way through. Gio Escobar, the leader of the deft punk-jazz band Standing on the Corner, dedicated a song to a late friend. The departed are everywhere around us, he said, as a groove emerged from the band’s dubbed-out chaos. “And they’re waiting.”
youtube
As hip-hop and art changed, as graffiti vanished from New York’s trains and walls, Ramm delved further into his own private cosmos—namely, the enormous loft in Tribeca where he lived, which he called the Battle Station. His obscurity wasn’t a choice. In the early eighties, he offered to send the U.S. military some of the intelligence he had gathered for national defense. (It declined.) In 1985, he wrote an opera, “The Requiem of Gothic Futurism.” In the nineties, he tried to promote his ideas by producing a comic book and a board game. He thought that toy manufacturers might want to mass-produce his “Garbage Gods” models.
He was the first artist to collaborate with the streetwear brand Supreme.

There was a series of infomercial-like videos to seed interest in “Alpha’s Bet,” an epic movie that he hoped would finally resolve the narrative arc of his extended universe.
By the time Rammellzee died, in 2010, after a long illness, New York City had been completely remade by mayoral administrations that took broken-windows policing as gospel. The Battle Station became condos.
The Internet has made it easy to take what the culture provides you and rearrange it in some novel, cheeky way. It’s much more difficult to build an entirely new world—to abide by an ethical vision with a ferocity that requires you to break all the rules. I was surprised by how moved I felt standing underneath Ramm’s “Letter Racers” and studying the textures of the “Garbage Gods.” To see their meticulous handiwork up close was to believe that Ramm’s far-flung theories, his mashup of quantum physics and “slanguage,” made sense as an outsider’s survival strategy. I noticed all the discarded fragments of city life—bulbs and screws, a billiard ball, a doll’s head, old fan blades and turn-signal signs, visors stacked to look like pill bugs. His commitment was total. These are works of devotion.
This is where Ramm wanted to live—at the edge of comprehensibility, but in a way that invited others to wonder. Cities are filled with strangers who possess an unnerving energy, who hail us with stories, songs, and poems. Ramm was one of these. In an interview filmed in the aughts, Ramm sheds light on his everyday life. Sometimes, he says, he’ll be walking down the street or sitting at a bar, and people will just look at him. And sometimes they’ll come up to him and ask, “Who are you?” He’s explaining all this while wearing one of his “Garbage God” masks. You notice his paunch, the warm crackle of his voice at rest. “I’m just an average Joe,” he says, and he sounds like he believes it.

I have hit Post Limit so I am responding here:
So Lupin the Third:
This is an Adult series written specifically for Adults. It's crude, sexual, and violent. It is also complex and heartwarming and MOST OF ALL: IT'S HILARIOUS
Lupin III has the slapstick flirty hilarity that original Loony Tunes has but for more adult audiences. Lupin definitely has a joy of life and mischievous Buggs Bunny energy to him.
Arsene Lupin III is the third of a line of master thieves. This manga from the 60's (technically ongoing) and anime from the 80's is (very very very very loosely) based off of the french Arsene Lupin stories where Famous detective Herlock Sholmes chases after the titular master theif who bests Herlock on many occasions. (Originally it was Arsene Lupin v Sherlock Holmes but that was a very early and famous case of IP/Copyright and his name was changed).
Lupin's partners Jigen Daisuke (half Italian and half Japanese raised in NY half his life) and Goemon Ishikawa XIII (descended from a Samurai theif from IRL history) work with him to pull off incredible capers.
Goemon is a master swordsman with yakuza history and Jigen is a master marksman with mob history.
Lupin is in love with Fujiko Mine another master theif (imo) who is the femme Fatale of the series. She's sometimes a member of the gang and sometimes not. Lupin will do almost anything to get into her pants and she uses that to her advantage regularly to manipulate him into stealing things for her. She's sort of similar to Nami from One Piece in a lot of ways.
Zenigata is the intrepid Inspector/Detective thats chasing after our titular theif and his gang. He's a lot like Gumshoe from Ace Attorney. He's sweet, and deeply cares about Justice and Lupin is his Arch Rival. His luck is terrible and his pay is low but the people that love him are very loyal. He will chase Lupin to the ends of the earth. He's a major comic relief character even in the more serious entries.
Hayao Miyazaki worked on Lupin III in the second half of the first arch Green Jacket and the movie Castle of Cagliostro was his first big movie break. They're beautiful to watch and very heartwarming and he had a lasting effect on the media canon.
A lot of this information will be repeated in the video essays I'm about to reccomend but honestly she'll do a WAAAAY better job of singing this series praises than I will.
Check out the video essays by @infinitesnowpro (Infinite Snow Productions on youtube).
Her essays -Miyazaki's Lupin- and - The Mystery of Mamo (Will be in the Criterion Collection) - are fantastic and the Miyazaki Lupin video confirmed some of my suspicions about Green Jacket.
She goes over good places to start in the video but if you want a small taste : Lupin the 3rd The First is on Netflix I believe. It'll give you an idea of what the characters are generally like.
Some of the series is on TMJ's official YouTube. They actually put a lot of their stuff on their channel for free. Not just Lupin stuff.
My favorite arch is Red Jacket the second arch but I watched Red Jacket for the first time back in the mid to late 00's so it'll always have a special place in my heart. ❤
If you like funny cops vs robbers type storylines and like a lot of the tropes of detective or heist media I think you'd like it. It's a very fun watch.
It's infinitely memeable and there's a ton of hilarious shorts compilations and soundbites floating around the internet.
The music is fantastic btw. There's compilations on youtube thst are like an hour or more in length under funny names that reference memes and they're nice to listen to while doing housework. -It's a beautiful morning and you're a Terrible Theif- or -A five minute egg cooks in 5 minutes- etc.
Bonus: As a series for adults with adult characters it will appeal to Middle Aged Men Enthusiasts so even if that's all anyone takes out of it I've still done my job promoting it. o7
sounds cool as fuck 👍

Don't know if this is too late and if you had a time frame for these asks things to be sent in but eh.
So, there's this movie I watched the other day (I'm telling you a story, basically, if you hadn't clued in). It's fairly well-known, I'd say, but you know me: I get to things on my own time, even if that's years after a release etc. Anyway, this movie is called Marriage Story.
Honestly, I didn't know what to think going in. I'd just finish sobbing over The Adam Project (also a new movie to me that day) and Si explained to me the strange phenomenon that is Americans bonding with (typically) their fathers over playing catch/baseball, and I was ready for an interesting story where I could hopefully just stare at Adam Driver for most of it.
The whole reason I was even on this sudden movie binge was because I was bedridden after a really bad bout of vomiting the day prior (on top of having a cold, by the way, it just fucking sucked) and the tips given are not to move much or suddenly, rest, keep up fluids, and REST. So, I was in bed, bored, I was bored in bed, and so I got out my laptop and opened Netflix to see what might distract me.
Then this magical thing happened where suddenly I was open to watching new things again. I love when that happens. So, after the emotional roller-coaster that was The Adam Project, I figured Marriage Story couldn't be that bad.
Oh boy, was I in for a ride.
You know those pieces of media that you sink into and you go "wow, neat, this is really good" before the horrorific realisation creeps up on you that you relate to the story or certain characters on a deep and uncomfortable level? Yeah, that was Marriage Story.
You've mentioned before that you don't mind much spoilers, so I'm gonna explain this, although you don't have to read if you don't want to, or if you've already seen it. Anyway. I forget the names of the main characters, but I know the actors that play them. They're Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson. In this movie, Adam's character is a director and he basically runs a theatre company in New York. Scarlett's character is an actress who was on television at one point and is looking to return after she spent a decently long time acting at Adam's theatre company while they were married.
I did not expect it at all, especially considering the way the movie opened, but Scarlett's character hit close to home. She gave up dreams, ambitions, parts of herself to be with Adam. She tells another character that she realised one day that in the flat she owns with Adam, none of the decor was hers. She had no influence in the space. It was all Adam. Even when they had their son, she became just a mother, and it was like her husband didn't even see her (he loves his son though and loved being a father -- we just get the idea that he's a pretty shitty husband). What's more, he scorned television, hated watching it even. Didn't understand why she desired to put her own idea to screen and move away to LA. We see that her life has had to revolve around his their entire marriage. She left LA for him, lived in NY for him, acted in his company and followed his director notes, was his muse, was a mother but barely a wife, she had things about her that she was pretty sure he didn't know simply because he never asked.
Adam was blind to it all. He's so caught up in his world and thinking everything is fine that he doesn't realise his wife is leaving him until it's too late. And then he sleeps with his assistant and his wife finds out. They hadn't even divorced or discussed divorcing yet. A lot of the movie, in my mind, is him realising that his world is not the only one. That the person he lived with and had a son with for years is another entire person with their own thoughts and feelings.
But we also see he has his struggles too and I couldn't help but feel bad for him. I almost wanted him to win back Scarlett as a changed man. By the end of the movie though, she has a boyfriend, and things seem to be more harmonious in the separate household arrangement they have with their son now that they're divorced. The end of the movie is also when we hear the list she made at the start when they attended couples therapy where she named all the things she liked about Adam. At the start of the movie, she didn't want to read her list, but the audience heard it when she wrote it. We hear it again, maybe a year later in the narrative when her son finds it by accident and Adam reads it, not realising what it is until halfway through when he starts to choke up.
Because her list was honestly beautiful. She talked about how much all of this sucked because she would always love him even though he drove her crazy and made her want to leave. On some level, I think, she felt he did not love her because, as she mentions earlier on in the movie, he didn't even really SEE her, and yet she loved him, so it all still hurt.
And, I don't know, something about that movie had me crying even harder than when I watched The Adam Project. In hindsight, it was probably some pre-period hormones mixed in with me being physically exhausted from being sick. But we also know I cry fairly easily in movies anyway. There's just something so heartbreaking about wanting to be seen though. I think it's a universal desire, almost. Because, of course, no one's gonna see us better than ourselves most of the time, but other people can get pretty damn close, so it's when someone starts going way off the mark that it hurts, especially when they're supposed to be someone close to you.
There's my story about story that's about another story.
okay so it seems we both had experiences with movies/shows that Hit Really Close lately.
tonight we decided to pull up a Deep Space Nine episode which we have not done in. an age. besides which we did movie night as a full family again for the first time in a while and i'm not showing blue eye samurai to my mother. anyway.
we wound up with a jadzia dax episode. in this one she undergoes a trill ritual where her friends take on the memories of previous dax symbiont hosts so she can meet all of the people whose memories she's carrying around with her, and see how they've become a part of her and influenced who she is as a person.
and. let me tell you.
jadzia's episodes always hit hard for me because you of all people will know my obsession as a person and as a writer with digging into myself and who i am and peeling back all of my layers and finding out why i do this and that and what makes me, well, me, and how even the slightest difference in circumstances might make that change. and jadzia (trill stories in general but jadzia in particular) is such a great metaphor for and taking-literally-of the way that we're all a collection of things we picked up from the people around us, things that stay sometimes long after the person in question has left our lives in one way or another.
'zia getting to talk to each of dax's other hosts, to have her hair brushed by one, to talk about council speeches with another, to discuss gymnastics and klingon martial arts with one host and then beat the crap out of another when he overtook the man embodying him, to talk curzon down from a reckless decision in order to get a friend back and in the process show just how much curzon shaped jadzia . . . but also how strong she can be without him.
and in the end, jadzia thanks odo for embodying curzon, for showing dax the freedom of being a shapeshifter. and odo thanks jadzia, and thereby curzon, for showing him the joy that humanoids get from eating and drinking (things he'd physically been unable to do before) and staying up all night gambling (something he'd never been able to understand before).
we are each a matryoshka of personas and the events (and people) that shaped them. we are each a thousand alternate universes. we are all made of many facets.
damn.
(also, i don't have a timeframe for ask games at all. but if it's more than a week old i do ask that you either write out the question or link back to it so i can remember what, say, "no. 4" is)

Another one of Pat's old articles. I figured we could rerun it since the mayor wants more stuff about the lake, but he stepped in at the last minute and pulled it. His advance copy came back oozing with red ink. I'm gonna post the whole thing here because 1) I had to work late on a Friday to redo it so fuck him, and 2) why does he want this stuff cut out? It's a little weird, sure, but nothing inappropriate. Why doesn't he want the town reading this?
Candor Lake: An Inside Look, by Pat Davies
(text cut by the mayor is in red)
It's the first day of summer and the outdoors are calling! With Black Cedar State Park in our backyards, we are incredibly lucky to have a wealth of natural beauty and recreation at our fingertips. To make sure we stay safe and get the most out of our summer adventures, I sat down to chat with Ranger Bryn from the NYS Department of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation. Pat: Hi Bryn! Thanks for chatting with me today. What are you most looking forward to this summer? Bryn: Of course! I'm really excited to get out on the hiking trails. We've just repaired the Orange Trail, my favorite, and it's now open to visitors!
Pat: That's wonderful. Do you have any safety tips for those hitting the trails with you?
Bryn: Make sure to wear bug spray and check yourself for tics after you hike. Stay on the trails and only hike in the daylight. And please, if you come upon any building ruins, don't climb inside to explore.
Pat: I'll have to second that. When I was younger, I went exploring in the old Cayhill mansion and cut my arm open something awful!
Bryn: Right. I know how cool the old houses look, but they're not maintained or safety tested. So just think about whether that selfie's worth a broken ankle or a tetanus shot. Pat: One area of the park that we expect will receive a lot of traffic is Candor Lake. Do you have any advice for someone visiting the lake for the first time? Bryn: Yes. Uh- please don't run away. (Laughs) I think people are put off by its appearance when they first see it. But it's actually a really unique piece of nature. We've known about the lake water's qualities for a long time, like when people used to take it therapeutically to clear their airways and soothe their muscles. Animals are smarter than we give them credit for, and they come to the lake to soak their injuries or to relieve pains when they're dying. And so you end up with a lot of dead animals. It's perfectly natural. Pat: That's fascinating. Animals really do know better than us sometimes, don't they? Long before we knew about depletion, they were already avoiding drinking from the lake. Bryn: Yep. That's an example we should all follow. When the water drops below a certain level, Candor Lake isn't able to support a healthy community of fish, amphibians, and other creatures. The ripple effects spread to the whole forest. The best thing you can do to take care of our environment is to leave the water where it is. Pat: Thanks for the reminder! We all need to do our part. What are some healthy activities you'd recommend at the lake this summer? Bryn: Swimming for 60 minutes or less is a great way to cool down on a hot day. You can catch bugs and tadpoles by the shore as long as you release them, and you can fish with a permit or go kayaking. You'll find lots of cool species that have adapted to the lake's unique environment. I also love to walk along the shore and identify bones. I do it with my little niece a lot, and she's already becoming an expert! Pat: Adorable. A new ranger in training! Bryn, thank you very much for your time today. I hope our locals and tourists alike will learn a lot from what you've told us. Have a great summer season!

Okay so I just finished with 5x08 and first off: fuck Justin’s dad. Second of all: damn, i wish that somehow it would’ve been Brian that had to help get Justin out of prison. I just know he’d have something to say but also would be very protective about it. Now: the Ted and Brian conversation KILLED me! The fact that Brian actually admitted all that to Ted? Fuck! I wish i could just give him a huge hug. Also, i love that Brian didn’t end up sleeping with that guy. Aso im glad the bet is over but i will say, the moment when the camera pans to Brian on the plane? I actually laughed so hard. No matter how bad an episode or storyline is, Brian is always funny. The ending got me though ngl. Part of me is confused and the other part is hoping that whatever that means it’s something good for Britin (the you can lock the doors, bar the windows but eventually it’ll get in’ part) he is killing me! Also honorable mentions: i love Lindsey and Brian’s friendship so much, and that moment when he banged his head in the attic before she told him about moving on from his past, if they didnt mention him hitting his head, id fully believe that Gale actually hit himself. And my all time favorite mention, that is actually also a fave Brian moment. I love that there are multiple moments throughout the series, where someone tells him nice things or compliments him or says they wanna help and he goes ‘thats so nice..now what do you need?’ Or like the getting Justin back from NY moment (which btw i still wish we got a little bit of a car moment for the back trip) when Emmett and Ted say theyre going with him because he’s their friend and he says thats nice, now whats the real reason?’ I just love how he always sees through a person and also never takes it as an insult but kinda loves it in a way. Anyway so sorry for rambling about episodes but it’s killing me that It’s ending slowly and there’s no one i know that watched/watches the show :/
Hey anon!
Listen I make gifs for this dead fandom with like three people so I'm basically doing the same lmao you can always ramble at me.
Justin's dad being the same piece of shit he was since day one, disappointed but not surprised. The scene with Ted and Brian is one of my favourite ever moments, Brian's self awareness into how his parents fucked him up so that he cannot love properly without fear <- relatable. This is the angle I wish they'd leaned into for him in S5 can you imagine?! Also Ted and Brian's friendship developing at Kinnetik is so important to me.
Be grateful for small mercies he didn't sleep with him, that's not the blue eyed blonde he really wants.
It is bittersweet because anyone complimenting him in a real way or showing concern he finds it hard to hear, Brian is the caretaker that's his job, he does the fixing around here you flip it on him and he doesn't know how to deal with the vulnerability. So he covers it with wit and sarcasm, and addiction issues. Apart from the afore mentioned moment with Ted, however he said it didn't make him feel better, but it did Ted. He's not one to spill his guts - child of trauma syndrome.
He is an expert on reading people though and advice giver extraordinaire, listen to me, are you listening?
I sympathise with the mourning period coming your way, I'm two years in and it doesn't get any better lmao. I'm still here yelling into the void.
Also your rewatch notes are kinda triggering possible gif parallels so i appreciate it!

Child of the Sun
For the @flashfictionfridayofficial prompt:
For my Overcoming the Monster story
(Not my best writing)
(I’ll probably re-write it)
----
“Welcome to the city of Rising Sun!” Exclaimed Nala with more energy than Cal, Nys and Prieer had combined.
“So, how are we doing this, cuz I’ve never been here, and I am not comfortable with either Nys or Prieer leading us.” Cal asked tiredly.
“I’ll be the tour guide,” Nala said with an eye roll, “I’ve been here before.”
“Cool, let’s just go, already.” Prieer huffed impatiently.
They hadn’t even started, and Nys already had the distinct impression they should have stayed on the ship with Lace.

Okay, points to Nala, she knew what she was doing, and Nys commended that. But there was still the small, little, insignificant fact that 3 out of their 4 party members were wanted by the Guard. Yeah, he could admit it, it would not be the smartest move to walk right in front of the Guardsmen.
So, what did they do?
They walked in front of seven fucking Guardsmen with swords
(God, kill him now)
So they ran, which led to where they were now: running across a field of golden sunflowers, having been split off from the group.
Chest heaving, lungs and limbs screaming, and adrenaline pumping, with scratches across his arms and face (who knew sunflowers could be sharp?)
They didn’t notice the steep, muddy drop in front of him until they fell down, rolling and tumbling, hitting his head probably too many times to be healthy.
They laid there
And fuck, Nys didn’t even notice if the Guard was still following, because, fuck, they couldn’t fucking breathe–
Panic set in, and their vision blurred
He couldn’t fucking breathe
He couldn’t fucking breathe
They were stuck in a stupid muddy ravine, and couldn’t breathe.
Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck-
Their vision went dark
–
Nys awoke with the distinct, unpleasant feeling of anxiety creeping up on him, like he was missing something or late.
They also awoke 1. Without a binder, 2. With someone hovering over them, and 3. In a way too bright room
- (Some stuff I haven’t figured out) -
Nys stumbled over to the clanking of metal.
Standing over an anvil, was a girl hammering away at a piece of metal.
And maybe it was the golden sheen to her dark skin, or the aura of warmth around her, but Nys knew
She was the child of the Sun

so i figure that i’d talk about some really bad ad that i saw that really ruined my mood and pissed me off last night, and it’d be for the better if i talked abt this here on tumblr to get awareness of it because good lord man i don’t normally watch TV--haven’t watched it in a hot minute, but i was watching TV downstairs partially because i still had energy in me and didn’t want to go to bed just yet after shutting down my laptop for the night. i’ll spare you the details bc y’all probably don’t want to hear how i was watching air disaster investigations on the smithsonian to note whenever the ads roll in, i mute it because the patience to sit down and listen to liberty mutual and/or progressive’s unfunny bullshit shenanigans. this is important. so, this ad rolls up featuring this young girl and her school aide, as i said i had the TV muted so i was totally unsure of the context. i was thinking that it was just an ad for school supplies or the local BOCES (basically NY’s special education program). otherwise innocuous stuff--girl writes “i love you” in glue, and it’s shown near the end that she’s skipping down the halls of the school with her aide and then right at the end it hits you. it’s an autism $peaks ad, blue puzzle piece and all. i’m rightfully pissed, bewildered, and dumbfounded at the same time. part of it was because “how in the hell is that stupid fucking hate organization still putting out ads in 2022?”, another part was because i could not believe what i saw and i got thrown for a loop because of that disingenuous ass ad needless to say, it ruined my mood--and that ad has been lingering in my head ever since i saw it last night, and just how oh so subtly disingenuous it is knowing who’s behind it. it’s like a wolf in sheep’s clothes trying to smile at you, hoping that you don’t know the burning pile of bodies right behind it my spoons to rant about this is going short, remember to like and subscribe, and fuck autism $peaks lmfao

Tr to feel when get time. Open this after piano and the sharpness between my post earlier vs the feelings that come with knowing theres another song about her. I wonder things like did i finish my Him. album during time he was writing music about her
And while that sharpness of the contrast feels like a knife cutting silk, im still able to find my peace in Faithful at the piano
dream that woke-His voice calms my soul and in dream i was explaining its too hard to listen to songs about him falling in love with others and still feel peace within me. He understood, we were in some home, he was so loving. The listening. He actually listens to me in my dreams… like I listen to his music all the time
I refer to dream to keep mental health up. Its such a weird feeling to be killing it in work with the personal depression weighing down your heart at the same time. Think of his story and he doesnt know that I like and want to fuck everywhere, always had fun being a good lover in my past, some said to me its the best sex ever had. But since i saw him i only want him as my best sex. The thoughts of what i want to be doing and living now reflected in music as already done w someone else. Yet i can only hope that the universe knows what its doing. Hope.
Strength in mind keeps me from a depression i cant overcome…a wave thats just too heavy for my body…even w the strength ive built around my delicateness as a woman. It feels like hes already done everything with everyone else but just breath (“Just Breathe” by Telepopmusik) - a song i always loved. Just breathe and let your mind try and find something monumental or special hes never done w anyone else. When you figure it out, hold onto that thought. You can only control what you hit play on follow or think about to keep the depression from seeping in too dark like before. Strength is in what you let your mind focus on and being able to redirect thoughts. Kobe mentality
So think about the Gerald you dream about so often these past few years.think about being inside that home/place with him where he feels like your soulmate, and play his music that makes you feel safe like faithful. It feels like your light in the dark, even if its not real - it still feels real. That piece you could never explain to anyone bc they wouldnt believe let alone understand
Garden shit
Find your peace in Faithful. Hit play on that. His voice is so soothing to me. My love for him seeps through and somehow heals pain in my heart
Playing Faithful on piano middle of night makes me feel at peace and sleepy again. Let london wrap the data sheet for ny and sleep until 8
I think the tumbler thumbnail changed

The band’s self-titled 2021 debut album became a breakout moment, winning critical praise and sparking an international tour. Follow-up LP Fairweather Friend goes a step further – absorbing the sonic attack of their live shows, it balances this with studio finesse, allowing the San Francisco four-piece to become the band they’ve always aspired to be. The Umbrellas' self-titled 2021 debut album was a breakout moment in an otherwise grim year, winning critical praise and fueling tours with everyone from labelmates Papercuts to Fucked Up. Follow-up LP Fairweather Friend goes a step further – balancing the rambunctious sonic attack of their live shows with studio craft and finesse, allowing the San Francisco four-piece to become the band they’ve always aspired to be. It's a record overflowing with highlights. The addictive, upbeat melodies of introductory track ‘Three Cheers!’ are matched to an impactful percussive punch; ‘Say What You Mean’ finds The Umbrellas working with total confidence, letting the song ride out to its chiming conclusion, four voices working in precision. ‘When You Find Out’ offers rotating notes of guitar punctuated by a vocal that pushes past angst to accept a world full of hope. A lean 10 track affair, it grasps towards beatific pop while fuelled by a sense of risk-taking and the precision that comes from long months on the road. The Umbrellas coalesced in 2018 around a group of musicians with connections to the legendary San Francisco record emporium Amoeba Music. Singer and guitarist Matt Ferrera had previous links with bassist Nick Oka, as well as the powerhouse drummer Keith Frerichs. A chance encounter with Morgan Stanley singing karaoke at a Fourth of July party cemented the line-up around an avowed thirst for melody. “All of us love really earnest pop songs,” Nick points out. “I guess we got to a point in our lives where we wanted to be genuine.” Playing shows at San Francisco’s vital DIY redoubt Hit Gallery, The Umbrellas would share line-ups with local heroes such as April Magazine and Cindy. Recording their debut album across a two-day spell at Matt’s parents’ house, the results won a devoted cult following. The experience of frequent touring bonded them tightly and allowed the volume to tick up a little higher (and higher...) and and feeding a desire for their next record to more closely mirror the energy of their live shows. “I think we got tired of people saying, oh you’re so much louder than I thought you’d be!” laughs Matt. “Our early recordings are sweet and earnest… and we wanted it to be louder.” Kicking off sessions in November 2022, the band used an ad hoc space Matt created in his basement, which allowed the sessions to be a little more relaxed in terms of timescale than their debut. “We gave ourselves more space for this album,” says Keith. “We wanted time to sit on the songs, and really work on them.” Capturing their thrilling live dynamic on tape, The Umbrellas are at once more physical and yet also more controlled on their new album. Take opening track ‘Three Cheers!’ – the peppy, sun-soaked rush masks a barbed lyric, courtesy of Nick Oka. “It’s a pseudo-political song about power struggles that occur in a job situation, or a friend group. It’s an observational song.” ‘Toe The Line’ has an unkempt, rollicking sense of energy, the playful relationship analogy of the lyric pushed to the speed of light by Keith’s just-chaotic-enough punk drumming. ‘When You Find Out’ meanwhile epitomises their unified, egalitarian way of making music – with The Umbrellas, each voice counts. “It sounds different from any song we’ve ever written together,” says Morgan. “It shows how much we’ve grown. Trust helps us to build the songs. It’s definitely a team effort.” It's also a record of ambition. ‘Say What You Mean’ stretches past the four-minute mark, the viola performance informed by Estonian minimalist composer Arvo Pärt. ‘Gone’ was the first song attempted for the new album, and the last they actually finished, endless re-writes transforming it into a manifesto of control and release. Taken as a whole Fairweather Friend is a bold indiepop triumph, crafted with purpose and attention. Taking their time over each note, the four-piece have strengthened their songwriting, adding depth and assurance while unlocking their potential. Some bonds last a lifetime – The Umbrellas are ready to capture your heart. Read the full article
